084f2db8c6 In laymans term, your public folder will become accessible to anyone who has joined the Home Network Homegroup. I think it may be a sharing thing, but I wouldnt think so if I followed the directions above correctly&any advice? Thanks! August 5, 2010 Viv When I try to drop files into the shared users folder on either machine, I keep getting the message that I need permission to continue. who cares. If you want to create security-enabled network with password protection, then choose desired option from Security type and enter security key. If you are using Static addresses make sure you can ping the IP address of each computer. To get it over with and allow HomeGroup users to freely access your public folders, go to Network and Sharing Center and from left sidebar, click Change advance Sharing Settings. (i have never stored anything in the vista public folders before today!) then i tried moving some songs to users/pubic/music, same positive results. Microsoft has taken a step backwards with their networking simplicity. i want to connect the printer.
Do the same for every folder for both of your computers in your system that you want to share. I can share files, on both computers. If you want to configure advance sharing settings, click View or change HomeGroup Settings. From Network and Sharing center of both PCs, change the network group to HomeGroup. The main computer here is Windows Vista, and this is where the accounting files are kept. I keep getting a login screen that no matter what I put in still tells me it is the wrong user name and password. Can anybody help? Thanks, K January 17, 2011 ESoka when i try to connect to the network it says User-PC is not accessible.
